Wong Pei Ting is a journalist from Singapore. She enjoys telling people stories and was the first to present an in-depth look at how stateless people lived in Singapore. These days, she is fascinated by what data can do to augment reporting. Her explorations have led to this round-up of Singapore's record-breaking 14th term of Parliament, and this auto-updating site that reveals the month's most outrageous public housing transactions, among others. She is currently a data journalism student at Columbia University. She returns to The Straits Times in August 2026.
